About This Project

Current research

I am interested in RNA modification in particular inosine which is one of the most common modifications present in RNA. We have hypothesized that the presence of inosine within RNA helps the cell discriminate between ‘self’ and ‘non-self’ RNA. We are currently studying the role on inosine in disease, in particular auto immune diseases.

Teaching experience

I taught 2 lectures/ year to Mater students at MRC Human Genetics Unit for 15 years. I was course organizer for two course in Molecular Biology and Molecular Techniques for Masters students in Stockholm Sweden. I taught an intense molecular biology course to PhD students in  Addis Ababa, approximately 30 hours.

Current position

ERA Chair, at CEITEC Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic

Fields of expertise

RNA, RNA modification, protein biochemistry
